Nagaland observes cultural and traditional day

Under the initiative of Nagaland Education Mission Society, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, Cultural & Traditional Day was successfully observed on 5th October in all Government Schools having elementary sections throughout Nagaland. The Government Middle School Officers’ Hill Kohima observed the same with pride and regal.

During the programme, various activities were performed by the school children such as cultural dance Lotha Tribe, Folk song Angami & Chakhesang tribe, storytelling (Folktale) Smti. Kekhriengunuo Kiso was conducted.

In the progamme the students were mandatory to wear their own traditional attires to school which received good response from all over Nagaland.
The programme was attended by Mr. Thungchibemo Lotha (Reader SCERT) as the Chief Guest who spoke on the importance of cultural, heritage, protection & diversity. The chairperson was Mr. Chepe Kapfo A/Teacher and the programme was concluded with vote of thanks offered by Smti. Mimi Yoshii
The main aims and objectives of the cultural and traditional day is to enable the school children to know and learn about our traditional and culture, to instill in the minds of the students the importance of cultural diversity and to let the children learn their traditional folktale, folk dance and folk songs.
