There are a lot of cars on the road and traffic congestion is a significant issue in urban areas. The rapid growth of vehicles bring the problem of traffic congestion and one of the most challenging and complicated issues in town and city life are the traffic problem. When we’re in traffic, whether that’s in a car, on a bicycle, by foot, or using public transport, we want it to flow. We want to keep moving, catch our connections, and not waste time. Nobody likes sitting in traffic because sitting in traffic is an extremely unpleasant experience. However growth-induced traffic gridlock is getting worse every year. It makes life in towns and cities uncomfortable for people. Millions of people deal with traffic congestion on a daily basis. The first thing many people think of when it comes to congested roadways is the delay. During the morning commute there is additional stress because delays caused by traffic can make people late for work. And at the end of the day, the afternoon rush hour is again a frustrating time because the workday is done and people want to get home to relax, and traffic is preventing it. Thus society pays a heavy price for traffic. Traffic congestion can have a number of effects on drivers, the environment, health and the economy. Sitting in highway traffic is seen as an unproductive and undesirable activity, recurring congestion can have adverse effects on both the economy and the citizens’ well-being. It leads to loss of time, more pollution and increased spending on gasoline. Heavy traffic congestion can have a tremendous impact on personal life, career, future and even safety. Traffic congestion has been increasing in most parts of the world, developed or not, and everything indicates that it will continue to get worse. Finding a solution to traffic congestion could mean a vast improvement in the quality of life.
