Christmas is now a thing of the past (even if the festive weight gain isn’t) and New Year is also now a distant memory so now thoughts are turning to what things are on the calendar for 2017. Before Easter eggs are devoured, there’s a day most ‘loved-up’ couples adore but most singletons dread –Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re planning on yours being all hearts and flowers or curled up on the couch with a tub of ice cream, you’ll want to get in your diary so you can count down to it or get ready to dodge it at all costs.
This month, we are celebrating love in all of its forms: Because this is love. It is here and now. It is faith and anxiety and imbalance and joy and sorrow and endurance. It is the everyday, the always. And because long after the threads of today are worn and faded, sprinkled with dot-sized holes and tiny shreds, we’ll still have love. This Valentine’s Day, don’t forget to celebrate all the special people in your lives — family, friends, colleagues and those who make you smile throughout the day. We are also starting a column on alternative therapies and will be featuring different healing modalities from this issue onwards.
Cheers to a happy, healthy and lovely February!
