Munna Acharjee, 22, a young artist from Dibrugarh wants to present his canvas painting on ‘Beti Bachao Bet Padhao’ to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Munna tried to present the canvas to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 25, 2018 during the inauguration of Bogibeel Bridge but he could not present him the painting because he didn’t get the appointment.
Munna expressed his willingness to present his canvas painting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “It’s my dream to present my painting on ‘Beti Bachao Bet Padhao’ to Prime Minister Modiji because I have I seen him in TV how he has highlighted the role of girl survival and its education. Modiji is my role model and I like to present the canvas painting to him,” Munna said.
He said that the main objective of the painting is to highlight the importance of the girl child and its education. “To complete the painting I have taken one month time. Through this painting, I tried to show the contribution of our women towards freedom struggle. How Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi has fought against the British government and how in shaheed Kanaklata Barua of Assam of Assam has led a procession with the National flag during Quit India movement and later shot dead by the British government. The womenfolk of India have contributed a lot during the freedom struggle,” Munna said.
“I have lost my mother last year and she has a dream to see me an artist who works for the poor and needy people. So, I want that her dream come through,” Munna said.
The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao(BBBP) scheme has been introduced in October 2014, to address the issue of declining Child Sex Ratio(CSR). The scheme was launched on January 22, 2015, at Panipat in Haryana. It is a tri-mini sterial effort of Ministries of Women and Child Development, Health and Family Welfare and Human Resource Development.
He added, “Now girls have to face lots atrocities in the society, Therefore, through my painting, I like to create awareness among the people and urge them to change their perception about the girl child,”.
Munna belongs from a very poor family whose dream to become an artist who could serve the needy people.
Munna was invited to the audition for America’s Got Talent show in Los Angeles in 2017 for his innovative fire painting but due to the financial crisis, he could not go to the audition.
Munna has four world records and one national record in his name. World Record India(2018), India Star Word Records(2018), Vajra Word Records(2018), Kohinoor Book Of World Records(2018) and India Book of Records(2018).
“I have drawn several world maps in a single beetle nut size 1.3 cm. I want to do a unique painting for Assam. I have thought some innovative painting which will I draw shortly,”.
