Triveni Barman is a name known to many in Northeast as she is the daughter of the soil who made us all proud by representing Assam in the FBB Colors Femina Miss India 2017.
A strong believer in “humility”, Triveni did win a lot of hearts and love, if not the pageant this year. With a want to be remembered as a woman who touched lives and left her imprint Ms. Barman is a true beauty that can make every person she meets feel valued and loved.
A brief rendezvous…
Congratulations on making all of us proud at Femina Miss India. How was the experience?
The experience was amazing. Miss India is something I dreamt of. And I am so happy that I am a part of the Miss India family now.
You have been the face of Assam for a long time as far as commercials and ramps are concerned. How did the journey begin?
I started modelling when I was in class 11. Started with 1 or 2 ramp shows. Then I joined a contest in Guwahati – Eclectic model hunt. I never ever thought that I will get through the auditions also. But later I got groomed and trained by Sandeep Cherian my mentor. And guess what I was the winner. And then I decided not to look back and continued my career in modelling. I started getting offers. Did a lot of shows national and international. And a lot of people supported me especially my mom. Without her support nothing was possible.
Triveni Barman is much more than a pretty face and I personally am sure of that. What do you as a public face stand for?
Triveni Barman is not just a pretty face but a lot more than that. I am a person with strong opinions and I love taking my stand for that. I would love myself to be known for my hard work and my passion.
A shift to Mumbai is definitely a big step. What’s in store?
Oh yes! A very big step. But jokes apart it’s not that easy to survive in Mumbai because there is so much competition here. Luckily I got through two auditions and two big brands (tvc).
As you represent the NE in its finest in mainland India, how do you cut across the limited know-how people have about our region?
North East is long been neglected from mainstream … though it is one of the most marketable places in terms of tourism. I would like people around the world to know that it is a place with immense natural beauty. NE is a right mix of all the ingredients making it a perfect holiday destination.
What is your mantra for life and who inspires you?
My mom, she is the one who forced me to give the audition of Miss India. She is the one without whom, I could not even imagine of shifting here in Mumbai. As for my mantra- I believe in myself. And have learnt not to depend on others because at the end you are the one who has to survive and work hard. People can just give you advice. So my mantra for life is to believe in yourself.
A quote that helps you regains your confidence.
Work hard and let your silence make the noise.
What is your greatest dream yet to be fulfilled ?
I always wanted to become an actor. And trust me it’s not that easy. Practicing infront of the mirror, going for the auditions daily is what I am doing right now. And it actually works. Getting offers from known people is a blessing but this is just the beginning. I am concentrating on my work right now and also language (hindi).
Any note for your people back home?
Trust me I miss northeast. I miss home. I miss my family, friends etc. They have a lot of expectations. And I will make sure that I won’t disappoint anyone. Nothing like my Northeast!
More power to you girl! Make us all proud as always.
