India has a huge pool of technologically and professionally qualified human resource, attracting the interest and attention of the country and the entire world. These people are wholly absorbed by the large public and private sector companies. Initially, they were job seekers but now the scenario is a little different. We know that the government of India has introduced missions like ‘Make in India’, ’Start Up’ and ‘Stand Up’, all aiming to pave the way for the skilled professionals to open business organizations, creating jobs for youth. Efforts have been initiated to promote the vision and objectives of the missions described here for the economic upliftment of the nation, turning job seekers into job creators. The environment for investment needs to be congenial, involving transparency and accountability. The administrators need to play a proactive role by being free from corruption, making the organisation function without hindrance.
“The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Start Up Pad lays emphasis on to dream, to innovate and to escalate in setting up new businesses. The present generation needs to assist in new endeavours, helping in entrepreneurship, beginning Start Ups. India is a great Start up hub. The result of it in the last two years is very encouraging. “We are looking forward to certain new innovative ideas to understand the synergies of business in northeast”, said Sujoy Ghosh, Member, ICC, Kolkata, during its meet on Start Ups in Hotel Brahmaputra Ashok, Guwahati on November 4.
ICC has given directions on how to make a Business Plan for initiating Start Ups. People in need of funds need to prepare a Power Point Presentation, requesting for obtaining funds. The slide presentation needs to include components like Elevator Pitch, Vision and Mission statement, Management Team, Market and Industry Environment, Key Products and services, Competitive Scenario, Market Traction, Financials, Capital, Risks and Gaps etc.
“A Start Up is an entrepreneurship to give a shape to a dream in the physical world. ICC Northeast which began in 1998 is an organisation formed to search for a repeatable and scalp-able business model. Three things should be taken into consideration for initiating a Start Up which are market and consumers, capital and networking. They should be based on skillfully planned concrete strategies for gaining long term benefits”, said Arijit Bhattacharyya, CEO, Virtualinfocom.
For the maintenance of diligence, ICC has made a list of documents for submission by the creators of Start Ups. Meanwhile the public sector giant Oil India Limited has announced the OIL Start Up Fund of Rs. 50 crores to promote entrepreneurship among youth in the oil and gas sector in this region of the country .
